How to Clean the Garbage Disposal

To avoid bad odors it is important to clean your disposal regularly. Wipe down the entire inside of the sink and around the rubber down the drain. It is a good idea to fill your sink with water and dish soap and let it soak. You may also want to cut up a lemon or lime and let the disposal chew it up. It will leave a nice fresh fruit scent!

How to Use the Garbage Disposal

Generally these disposals are very easy to use – just flip on the switch. Be sure to remove large pieces of food off your plate before starting the disposal. Run cold water while rinsing your plates and be sure there are no utensils inside the disposal. If a fork or spoon becomes trapped inside, make sure it is turned off and removed to prevent damage to the blades.
